DC loves a good tech story and there’s no better story than ID.me, formerly Troop ID, formerly known as TroopSwap. Look you’ve got Blake Hall, a decorated Airborne Ranger and Iraq war veteran, not to mention a Harvard MBA who’s company is purpose built to help Veterans.
Troop Swap first started around the vision of offering active duty and veteran service members Groupon and Living Social-like daily deals. When the Daily Deal market started melting down, Troop Swap’s anemic revenue traction allowed them to quickly pivot to a new model. Today, according to the web site:
